In addition, students must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Social/Behavioral Sciences.

Degree Requirements

  1. A minimum of 58 credit hours (i.e., 43 hours of academic course work and 15 hours of graduate practicum) is required. 
  2. Full time students are expected to be enrolled for 5 semesters, and part time students for 8 semesters.
  3. 400 clinical clock hours are required for a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  A minimum of 325 hours must be earned under the direction of the Ole Miss CSD faculty and/or local adjunct supervisors.  Under special arrangements, portions of practicum can be completed elsewhere upon approval.
  4. Graduate Students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in the department to maintain enrollment, to qualify for graduation and to qualify for department financial aid consideration.
  5. Students who do not have approved undergraduate preparation in Communication Sciences and Disorders are not admitted to the graduate program.
  6. Students presenting academic hours in Communication Sciences and Disorders from another institution of higher education must have an evaluation of credits and determination of appropriate course work by the admissions committee with approval by the Department Chair.
