HILL Program Faculty

Vishakha Rawool, Ph.D., CCC-A, CPS/A, FRSM, FAAA

Dr. Rawool is Chair & Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders and an author of two widely used text-books, numerous funded research publications, and an expert guest speaker at national and international conference. She is a trilingual, highly experienced clinician, and her current research interests include age-related deficits in speech perception, hearing conservation, and remote collaborative communication.

 

Bradley Crowe, M.S., CCC-SLP

Brad is the co-director of UM Speech and Hearing Center and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. His area of expertise is communicative disorders. He earned his B.A. in Communicative Disorders in 1996 and his M.S. in Speech Pathology in 1998, both from the University of Mississippi.

 

Gina Keene, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist and Clinical Instructor
Gina is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Colorado. She is licensed by the state of Mississippi and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. Gina has worked with a variety of populations from birth to geriatrics in a variety of settings from home-based to schools to hospitals. Her primary interests are childhood language acquisition, incorporating natural environment instruction, and augmentative/alternative means of communication. Gina is the supervisor of the HILL preschool class, in which students with severe language disabilities receive individualized, one-on-one and group intervention to meet language goals. The class also provides an optimal clinical practicum experience for graduate students as they learn to work on the whole development of the child.

 

Dr. Lennette Ivy, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Founder of the HILL Program and Former CSD Department Chair
The late Dr. Lennette J. Ivy was from Detroit, Michigan. She relocated to Thrasher, Mississippi in 1967. Since then, Mississippi remained her home. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from Mississippi Valley State University, Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi, and Doctor of Philosophy in Audiology and Speech Pathology from the University of Memphis. In 2013, Dr. Ivy established the Hearing Impaired, Language and Literacy Preschool Laboratory (HILL) with support from the Robert M. Hearin Foundation, and in 2015, HILL was expanded to include a transition class. Dr. Ivy’s areas of expertise included child language development and disorders, phonological development and disorders, and literacy development and the impact of dialectal differences on literacy development.
